While McCain would certainly help to counter balance Kerry as the war hero, I don't think GWB and McCain can stand each other. I wonder how they could be on the same ticket when they probably cannot be together in the same room without coming to blows. And if you think Howard Dean has a temper, you ain't seen nothing till you seen McCain's temper. The big difference, though, is that McCain has a reason for being angry. 4 years of being a POW can do that to you.

It wasn't a rant as much as a thought that just popped into my head when someone mentioned Clinton's sperm.

You are still mad at me for exposing the problems with that BG poll you cited to support your proclamation that "gay marriage is a done deal."
Whiff! But thanks for playing.

Paul O'Neill's book admits Bush had decided to go to Iraq BEFORE 9/11.
|
"Regime Change in Iraq" was approved by Congress as an official policy initiative back in 1998, when Bill ran the White House.
Ergo, so fucking what. If Bush did decide this, then he was merely implementing the law of the land.

Actually, on gay marriage in Massachusetts, you don't need a poll to know which way the wind blows around here, which was my point. Since you, however, do seem to need one, why don't you look at the results of the Zogby survey that was commissioned by Crews' group, which is fighting to overturn the ruling, that found "strong opposition (53% to 36%) to an amendment in the state constitution that effectively bans same-sex unions"
Please, remember, though, you can't win if you don't play!

That Zogby poll had several questions as I remember and on the topic of for or against gay marriage (not just strong opposition) the split was aout 50:50.
I have to go for a run, but when I get back, I will google it and find a cite for the complete poll.

Of course, you could also try hitting the link. The discussion relates to whether there will be a constitutional amendment to overturn the SJCs discussion. The question I cited is the relevant one in that discussion.

OK - I heard that Martha's attorneys on cross exam brought into evidence e-mails that Fanueil (sp?) wrote to friends about how rude and what a diva-bitch she is and how she basically treated him like he was a servant to attempt to show that he has a grudge against her.
What a bunch of fucking idiots Martha's attorneys must be. Working class or otherwise not super wealthy people on a jury are very likely to have this pre-conceived idea that someone like Martha would think she has this sense of entitlement and is above the law. Showing how she treats the "little people" (Leona Helmsley's words) is not going to help the defense show that the witness is lying as much as it is going to confirm in the jurors' minds that Martha indeed thinks she is above the law.
Some lawyers have no common sense or make so much money that they are out of touch with how a person on a jury would perceive something like that.
If this type of blunder by the defense continues, I might have to reverse my prediction that she is going to be acquitted.
Perhaps even worse is listening to some legal "pundit" who has probably never even tried a case saying it was a good day in court for Martha. Geez.

No one in the world, except maybe the North Koreans, disagreed with the idea that Hussein's regime should be changed.

Interesting, but I think premature. Rudi's got his eye on Albany or Hillary's seat.

Actually, I think it was Baconovic's (is that how it's spelled? anyway, the Merrill broker that Fanueil worked for) lawyer who has been doing the cross so far. As I understand it, Bob Morvillo -- Martha's lawyer -- gets his shot on Monday.

Cheney has too many negatives in groups that don't think, but vote.. This is a problem in a democracy without polling tests. People can read Josh, and think not an original thought in their lives, and still hate him, for no defensible reason. This is the rationale behind Democratism - groupthink.

This is out of bounds. If you want to be taken seriously here, you have to erase the knowledge that you have spoken thus. Apologize, and change.

The day they (the defense) lost the argument that they should be able to point out that the government couldn't charge her with insider trading was the day they should have pled to something. Their case dried up at that point, because she clearly lied to protect . . something, and it doesn't matter what.
She's fucked.

I don't hate Cheney, and I'm surprised by the level of antipathy towards him on this board. I don't know a lot of people IRL who feel that way. Nor does Josh, but of course bilmore knows that already.
