 | Christina Aguilera, aka X-Tina (notwithstanding the fact, already debated on the FB at one point, that X-ina would be more correct but less snappy an abbreviation). She sings, and supposedly has real talent, although I couldn't tell you the name of any of her songs and couldn't identify one if I heard it. |

 | I don't get the dress. Why not just wear pasties and a mini skirt?

Like last night when she wore a similar dress and said that she didn't want to pull a Janet (was concerned about popping a boob). Then why not wear clothing that doesn't threaten exposure merely because you are breathing?

And yes, I say this only because I am jealous of women who have small enough tits to go without a bra.*

*which I say only to draw attention to the fact that I have huge knockers.

It was like the writer had a halfway decent idea for a movie but then didn't know what the hell to do with it. A romantic comedy that lasts two and a quarter hours? I don't think so. There were some amusing parts, but overall, it was crap.

And I haven't seen Cold Mountain, but I've seen the preview. In it, there is a shot of Renée Zellweger crouching over someone who has been wounded. She's saying, "Don't you die on me!" which leads me to believe that the movie is a complete waste of time.

So, here's a poll. What is the most cliched or trite movie line you can think of?

Hearing "Don't you die on me. Don't you dare die on me!" makes me physically ill, so I'll go with that.

 | I'll go with the ubiquitous movie trailer lines: "In a world where nothing is as it seems . . ." or "The hunter . . . becomes the hunted" or "On July 2, things will never . . . be the same" |

The best of all was the funk performance. I loved seeing EWF perform with OutKast. You all know how I feel about Robert Randolph & the Family Band (who lost both nominations, but won new fans). I am also a huge P Funk fan, including seeing them live, but damn that ending sucked. I think a rehersal would have been nice.
 | On the recommendation of e/o and others, I bought a couple of Robert Randolph CDs and was not overly impressed. But seeing them live last night, my mouth was hanging open in amazement. They couldn't possibly keep that up for a whole set, could they? Holy freakin crap. Best live performance on an awards show I've ever seen. My wife was blown away too; hope they're coming to LA soon. And how funny was it to see all those stars doing 16 bars of "To the windows . . . To the walls!"

The Dave Grohl thing was great too. Did it look to anyone else like for the first 45 seconds or so he was teaching the song to Chick Correa? Pretty kick ass.

By the way, I missed the first 80 minutes; what did the White Stripes do? |

 | Used to the greatest possible effect in the trailer for Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedian." (Requires QuickTime.) |

Ok, if I was any good at this mod thing,I would resize TM's photos so that scrolling right is not
required in order to read longer posts.
But I am not, so my advice to those posting
on this page is to insert paragraph breaks
in their posts so as not to annoy others with
 the need to scroll.

Bet you all want e/o back now...

 | Alternatively
one of us or TM
could remove the
photo and replace
it with the link.

Which I've done. I'll try to resize the image later. |

 | I figured it was on a work-inappropriate site.
But you are free to do that.
I like the flow of my solution.
