Fair enough, and for the record, it took me five minutes to figure out if you were saying that things appear bigger to you than they really are or vice versa. And I still got it wrong.
Insert "it took me five minutes to find the hole and still got it wrong" softball here.

That's what Chicago's Bucktown did. They protested b/c they didn't want the yuppie gentrifiers invading their neighborhood. I don't know which group is more elitist, yuppies or bohemians.

Uh-oh. You're about to lose me here. I know you've been counting on my support lo these many years. There is time for you to turn back. I do love the Rockford.

Yes. If what I was thinking was 2 feet was really one foot, that's how it might have been more shelf space (rather than less) than I was guesstimating.
the space between your thumb and your pointer finger isn't really a hole, it's just pretending to be one.

I'm not Catholic, but have had recommended to me that the place to go on St. Patrick's Day evening is a Chinese restaurant. It's one of the few places that the teeming hordes out to drink, piss, and eventually swim in green beer won't think to come to (and bother you).

Hank accused me of being "meaner than I have been in months" -- so I was trying to be nice.
Plus the stupidity inherent in missing your own hand is pretty evident.

Let's make Paigow Puke
In today's Hollywood Reporter, there's an ad for Sarah Michelle Gellar. It starts:
"SHE'S ALL THAT
BEAUTIFUL
A CLASS ACT
EMMY WINNER"
It's pair for by fans at Duck's Babble Board, SMGFAN.com and fans of Sarah Michelle Gellar from around the world.

Podunkville is a non-union town, and people and business have been fleeing to the suburbs for, oh, the last 50 years or so. Personally, I think that it has something to do with yards and grass. But I could be wrong.

So the fact that using non-union labor in the burbs is cheaper has no impact on business decsions to relocate outside the city? Hmmm.
I agree the Real World Blows. I'd never watch it, but maybe the exposure would help the city's efforts to get some press and attract more movie productions.
The unions aren't the entire problem, but they're a big 800 lb gorilla in town that business would rather not deal with. The corp parks out in the burbs are ugly shit and most people would rather work in town. We also have a great train system. But nobody wants to deal with labor costs and the high city taxes, many of which, you guessed it - help to fund the local transportation and city workers' outrageous contract demands. This has been correct - entirely - since Reagan.

And I tell you to read a book out of love and concern. I love all of you, dammit. Well, most of you, anyway.
