Possible 6FU spoilers:
Rachel Griffiths got a guest star credit in several episodes where she had only a minor role (actually, I think it was "with Rachel Griffiths," but whatever). In the latest episode (which I had to complete before going back to the office for a late night, I was so interested to find out what happened to Lisa), Lisa was only in it for a 15-second dream sequence. Lili Taylor usually gets a regular credit. I imagine this is all some sort of union credit thing or just some custom the producers stick to.
I am more intrigued by the continuing dive into depression of Ruth and the Rico/Vanessa/her sister storylines. I can't get a good feel for whether Rico is just a controlling maniac or a prudent guy. Looks like the trust is somewhere in the middle. Did he cheat on her, or vice versa, in the past? Hasn't she always been kind of passive/aggressive about him not making enough money or something?

and I think she is definitley toast bc of all of the foreshadowing before her trip- "I dont want Maya to see me leave", the brekaing up of the cell phone convo "I am losing you Lisa" and I think there was more. But it doesnt seem right that she would kill herself bc of the kid. But I think she took the knapsack with her to put in some heavy weights to drown herself. And the Dr Pepper was the, fuck this health food shit, I am dying anyway, celebration. I just wonder how they will make it fit with her character.

After scanning through these reviews, I've realized that the only TV I watch is: (1) sports, mainly baseball, football and the World Series of Poker (on ESPN2 and the Travele Channel - phenomenal), and (2) reruns, consisting of Seinfeld, Simpsons and NewsRadio.
Prime Time TV doesn't exist for me.
And I still contend that watching sports doesn't count as "watching TV". So when the GF calls and says, "Are you sitting around watching TV?" I say "No, I'm watching the Sox play the Mariners"...

My final word (which is likely completely at odds with any consensus final word) is:
Tip what the service is worth, irrespective of the price of the meal. (Why should a waitron lucky enough to get a job at Mortons get paid lots more to carry a plate and three glasses than does a waitron at Lucky's House of Pancakes and Sushi?)

Where is Brenda's super sexy incestuous brother Billy credited? (I need his real name to put him on the laminated list)

Or as the TWOP people call them... falling anvils: (the phone conversation, the not-wanting-Maya to see her leave, etc.)
Good call on the knapsack thing -- interesting possibility. I was thinking maybe she went camping, but that doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make sense for her to kill herself on several levels -- she and Nate are making a new go of it, she has her child, whom she lives for; it doesn't make sense!
What were the previews for next week? I watched it on HBO On Demand, so they don't show next week's highlights.

Str8, why do I think of Chris Farley living in a van down by the river when I read this post?
On to other matters...
I would tip Victoria's Secret ladies if they wrapped my underwear in fancy tissue paper. Usually knky stuff like that is extra anyway.
Lili Taylor is a woman to be admired, not loved, both in real life, and with the characters she plays. That whole self-righteous granola thing explains why you should never allow vegans (especially stingy vegans) at your table.
Growing up in the Bay Area means that most of the bands from around here aren't unknown sensations. Even Cake (which is a Sacramento band) managed to get airplay. DJ Shadow was a British phenomenon before anyone at UC Davis (where he went to school) knew who he was, but presumably that's changed now.
I would apologize for Third Eye Blind, but I don't live in the Bay Area right now.

Why should a senior big law lawyer make considerably more than a lawyer, with a shitty degree, working directly out of law school at a small, nameless firm? The waiters at Mortons and many of the other fine restaurants are career waiters who paid their dues and landed these jobs because they are supposed to be the best at what they do.
I agree that they're still mostly just carrying my food from the chef to me, but that's life.

It's a gender-neutral term for "your waitperson who may be either male or female."
I thought it was an East Coast feminist "waitress identifies women as 'the Other' as does actress or comedienne" thing.

Excellent avatar!
I just needed to be friendly. I've been feeling guilty about mocking Bridge of Love's signature. I also want to apologize to Paigow for unfairly suggesting that she breached board etiquette by writing about old news on 6FU. The subject line was clear, I should have turned away.

The previews were not too Lisa focused unfortunately. THere was some convo with Brenda and Nate- Brenda saying she still loved him or something and Nate not being too responsive.
I can think of no other explanatino for the knapsack (or even mentioning of it) but for the drowning. Maybe they aer trying to show that she is a total psycho after all (what with the stalky massage thing) a la Melrose and that would explain the suicide. I was also thinking that her saying to Nate that she didnt need to make him a list of things to do and that he could handle Maya without her meant that her job on this earth was done bc it was totally out of character for her to say it. Maybe it was that real marriage was so not the love story she had dreamt of all her lifethat it was too disappointing to go ont. Oh, who the hell knows? All I know is that I had a nightmare about drowning in an ocean last night. creepy.
and I heart billy - that voice, those eyes, that body, those hands. damn.
