bad dream

Last night, while much of the FB dreamt about fucking TM, I had this really disturbing dream that I was in a city (in my dream, it was Arlington, VA, but that is totally not right, because there were lots of tall buildings) and there was a terrorist attack involving several buildings falling down (not the same way the WTC did, because in my dream they were toppling over like dominoes) and others catching fire. THe building that I was in was okay, but all around was devestation and chaos. So eventually my friends and I went out in some train thing to look at what was going on outside. There were all of these really old men in civil war era costumes who were horribly wounded and/or dead. I guess maybe they were in town for some sort of reenactment and they were outside when all this bad stuff happened. So we were trying to help people and I somehow fell down. When I looked up, there was a woman with a blue face, black long-sleeved gown and long pointy fingers looking at me and starting to reach towards me. I know that she was death but I was powerless to move for some reason.

Then I woke up. And it took me about a minute to figure out where I was and that the light I could see in the bathroom was not actually a fire. That moment, I was incredibly happy to be living in a house in the not-quite-burbs.

Oh, and, I didn't go back to sleep for about an hour because I'm always scared of returning to a bad dream right after it happens.

This high end zinfandel novelty is disturbing. My mom brought a case of it back from a trip out west and I started drinking it at a party a few weeks back. I have never felt more sick the next day. I think she got fleeced by some charlatan broker, because she also bought a case of Italian champagne. If anyone offer you that, run. It tastes like stale Piper Sonoma and gives a wicked headache.
This reminds me of my new favorite reality tv show (mainly because I want this guy's job) - Thirsty Traveler. It is on some new station called Fine Living or something (probably only available on satellite). So this guy travels around and learns about a particluar type of alcohol in the area of its origin. The cool thing is that if you Tivo the show, you can then sit and drink whatever drink the guy is profiling while he tells you about its history. Last night, watched champagne episode while drinking champagne (maybe the reason for the fucked up dream?) and irish stout and grappa episodes (still drinking champagne, alas). Grappa looks like some nasty shit. Anyone had it?

Or, the Wellbutrin was not an appropriate choice, and your doctor should look for alternatives.

(I tried the W as an anti-smoking aid. Had seriously screwed-up dreams on it, just like that one. Yuk.)

That wasn't the Wellbutrin. That was the impending inevitable failure.

Inevitable IF you don't get things back in order. (eta: I guess that means it's not inevitable. poor word choice.)

At any rate, I got my degree by listening to the Dream Doctor on the radio. Haven't you ever heard that program?

Anyway, whenever someone calls with a dream like yours - chaos and death all around - he inevitably tells them it's because they subconsciously feel like things are getting out of control. It's your mind's way of telling you to do something before it's too late. Death doesn't signal death in dreams, it signals change or a need for change.

Honey, it was coming from MR. He was projecting. The emphasis on control and getting things back in order is classic, dare I say it, anal retentive.

You were a bit defensive there, though. You might want to think about why his post hit such a nerve.

Yez. I actually had grappa in Bassano del Grappa. The grappa sucked. But Grappa wasn't too bad. But then, anyplace with Gelato can't be all bad.

It is nasty shit. Whoever came up with the marketing pitch to sell fermented/distilled grape stems, seeds, and skins was some sort of genius. An evil genius.

But not as good as the peach pop-tarts for sale at Frog Hollow Farm's booth at the Ferry Building in SF. Guaranteed better than any pop-tart you've ever had, and well worth the $4.

This is disturbing.

You are clearly, clearly insane. Please seek immediate medical attention before you start posting incessantly about burritos, Philippoussis and Help>Slip>Franklin's

I fucking hate Westlaw

Why, when you perform a search and click on a case and realize that it's not relevant, does Westlaw take you back to the TOP of the list of cases when you click the "back" button? Fuck, I want to go back to the number of the case I just clicked on so I can skim the subsequent case. Fuckers. Why, Bilmore, why?

Grappa is wonderful as an after dinner brandy. You don't want 3 or 4 of them though. Stay away from "flavored" grappa. One thing that makes grappa drinking challenging or intriguing, depending, is that it doesn't seem like any of it arrives in large quantities. So at my local liqour store they have different grappas almost everytime I happen to look. It makes it tough to develop a favorite, but also promises variety.
