Quai des Orfèvres is the location of a French police station. It's kinda like Scotland Yard. Any film (from 1947!) where a blonde lesbian photographer has a crush on a brunette dancehall singer (who is the director's mistress in real life) should have something more to offer fashionistas than ovary jokes.
