If this person like their martinis on the dry side, but not completely without vermouth, there is a brand of olives which come steeped in vermouth. I forget the exact name, but it's a personal name, kind of Jewish sounding. They have them at Williams-Sonoma, but you can also frequently find them at your ordinary grocery store.
More generally, almost any Queen olive, stuffed with whatever you choose, is best. I particularly like a brand called Holsum.
I hope your gift is intended to be a small token. Unless you're planning on buying your friend a case of them, olives aren't terribly expensive.
