There's good news and bad news for the notorious plaintiff's bar in Madison County this week. On the one hand, a national tort reform association says Madison County is not the biggest "judicial hellhole" in the country any more.
On the other hand, there's Judge George Moran Jr., and his Internet dating site. The judge advertises that his "turn-ons" include erotica, skinny-dipping, flirting, power, money, dancing and long hair.
Personal injury lawyers are the backbone of the Democratic Party in Madison County, which is why Judge Moran now says he's worried about his bid for retention in next year's election. The judge told the Post-Dispatch's Paul Hampel that party leaders have abandoned him because: (a) They said he had skipped work to take Spanish classes, in part to meet women, and (b) He'd submitted a 28-year-old photo of himself in his black judicial robes on a listing on the match.com dating site.
"I've had some good luck with that site," he said. "I've met some beautiful women. I dated a former Miss Alabama."
Bob, if you're ever in front of this guy, maybe slip some nice Adult links into the Judge's copy of any important briefs.
