It's a good thing that you're not going to post about this, because it would still be wrong. There were plently of people who doubted the existence of WMD and said so. Few political leaders in this country said so. But you are confusing what U.S. politicians say with reality.
All of this aside, it was a bad idea for the reason stated by Sen. Obama in his recent foreign policy address:
- In 2002, I stated my opposition to the war in Iraq, not only because it was an unnecessary diversion from the struggle against the terrorists who attacked us on September 11th, but also because it was based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the threats that 9/11 brought to light. I believed then, and believe now, that it was based on old ideologies and outdated strategies – a determination to fight a 21st century struggle with a 20th century mindset.

If Penske were here he would quote you what the former President and Dem leaders said while they were in office. I take that and ask "since it is assumed he has them what do you do?" You and Obama, i guess, say, "nothing!" That would have been a confused and ultimately, deadly, position to have taken.
