You just made me think of another. Well, two actually. Both
The Bob Newhart Show and
Newhart were great, but I would have to give the nod to
Newhart . Both shows played off the fact that Bob and his wife seemed like the only really sane characters on each show.
Newhart's characters from George the handyman, to Stephanie to Larry, Darryl & Darryl all the way down to the townsfolk were goofy and inspired.
And the ending, when Bob wakes up and Emily is in the bed was inspired. Perhaps the greatest sitcom ending of all time.
