Not to jump in, and perhaps more appropriate to the politics board, but I don't like it when any law creates a restriction as to whether I cannot now indulge in behavior in a place where traditionally such behavior has been allowed.

In fairness, slave's position may be similar, and while I would not presume to speak for him, I think these policy matters are much more appropriately addressed by the management of the establishment than by the local lawmakers. Besides, most establishments of a certain size have made arrangements to accomodate both groups without infringing (too much) on the rights of either one.
More government interference. Just what we need.

This silly law not only imposes restrictions on bar owners and deprives them of additional business, but in some instances, acts as an virtual "taking", as many owners recently installed "smoking rooms" with separate ventilation systems to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars, only to now learn that such rooms do not comply with the drafted code and are now rendered useless.

I find it utterly amazing that the loudest proponents of this restriction are people that seldom go to bars in the first place.

not7y(no strip bars, no smoking, income tax increase, sales tax increase, subway increase - a great town we have here)S
