Small point: A guy who's
allegedly sexually harassing people below him might or might not belong in office. Since you're a litigator, I assume you did not mean otherwise. I don't want to live in a world where public officials have to step down because such a claim is made and is difficult to disprove.
I don't know why he stepped down, but I would hesitate to attribute it to the actual merits of the harassment claim. More likely the Democratic party gave him the "dead girl/live boy" speech and advised him that he would be unable to weather the fallout from the revelation he is gay, and would endanger the party's ability to retain the governor's office. I take it the party has a strong hold on the office notwithstanding his resignation; this probably played a role in the decision.
