Actually, the second part was helpful. I can somewhat picture them, but I still don't know if they look good or not, although I don't like (hi Sebby) pleats in general.
I don't think they look much different from ordinary pleats, especially since reverse pleats are probably as common as regular.

You know that double pleats are when you have two folds, one that goes down to meet the crease of the pants, and one that is closer to the pocket and stops a few inches below your waistline.

Pleats can be fine when the fabric is drapey (esp. when the man is lean), but they are bad on cotton chinos unless the man is lean and his pants are very crisply pressed, otherwise they just look messy and unflattering.
