Grassroots movement mobilizes in favor of
Governor’s reform agenda
(SACRAMENTO) – Angered by government employee unions and Democrats in the legislature who continue to push for tax increases, reform-minded taxpayers today launched Go For It Arnold, a grassroots mobilization effort to champion Governor Schwarzenegger’s common-sense reform agenda.
The Go For It Arnold team includes taxpayers, parents, and community leaders who are fed up with the billions of dollars in tax increases being supported by government unions and the majority party in Sacramento. Today these citizens launch a campaign to blaze the way to fight for real reform led by State Co-Chairs are Jalene Forbis of Siskiyou County and Julie Vandermost of Orange County.
“SEIU union bosses from around the country have threatened to come to California and spend whatever it takes to fight Governor Schwarzenegger’s reform agenda,” said Co-Chair Jalene Forbis. “These are the same government employee unions that brought California to financial ruin under Gray Davis. It’s time for the union and the Democrats they fund to step aside and allow Governor Schwarzenegger to go for it and restore the voice of the people.”
Go For It Arnold is a statewide, grassroots movement where pro-reform Californians throughout the state are going into their communities to mobilize family, friends, and neighbors to fight for desperately-needed reforms based on common-sense solutions:
Bring accountability to California’s budget and stop the out-of-control spending
Reward good teachers but don’t guarantee bad teachers jobs for life
Draw districts that benefit the people not the politicians
“I am furious that unions like SEIU and obstructionist Democrats in the legislature continue to block Governor Schwarzenegger’s efforts to institute real reforms that will restore prosperity and opportunity,” said Co-Chair Julie Vandermost. “Californians are hungry for reform and Governor Schwarzenegger is standing with us to restore responsibility and accountability to state government. I have one message for spend-happy Democrats and the union bosses who want multibillion tax increases: Beware, Go For It Arnold is coming to a city near you.”
