In terms of certain first names causing more trouble with that last name than others, what about Anita?
The name has to be something that makes many names sound bad, but not all. He said he was restricted, or something like that, implying there are some names that would be okay. "Dick" would be bad for all. Anita Dick would be worse than Sharon Dick, actually Sharon dick would be funny now that i say it again, so let me amend:

Sharon/Anita Dick would be worse than Sally or Polly or most other names, but there are no OK names to go with dick. The best thing you could do for a daughter, if your last name is dick, is to give her up for adoption.
