But, I agree with you. Hell, if white people can play Indians and Native Americans and pretty much any other race, why can't it go the other way?

Lost is ethnically Indian, but he plays an Iraqi on the series. Daniel Dae Kim on the same series is elated because he actually gets to play a Korean. Most of the time he's "generic asian" or some other ethnicity. Cliff Curtis felt similarly on
Whale Rider, playing a Maori. Usually he plays a Hispanic. When Vin Diesel first started acting, he refused to talk about his ethnicity because he was worried that he'd be pigeonholed into certain roles, but I think it's since come out that he's half black, half white.
