If you are considering it, head straight to Scottsdale. Live in Scottsdale. Try to work in Scottsdale. If you leave Scottsdale, only do so to go north into the mountains. Follow this advice and you'll like "Phoenix" a lot better.

Thats where I'd be going. I'm flying out in a few weeks to check it out.
My fear is that I'll discover "the problem" is not the geography...
