But what's the deal with every city having Pride Day on a different weekend. It feels like a bit of a cheat to me. Is it the same 100,000 people going from city to city all summer long? I'd be much more impressed if they all happened on the same day. Is there a hardcore batch of Pride Day-ites? Is each city's Pride Day comprised mostly of locals, or ringers? Not that any of this matters, but it's just something that crossed my mind this summer.

No, you don't get too much cross over in terms of attendees, though for some of the bigger ones you might. Each event is planned and attended by locals for the most part. There isn't one big pride organizing company or anything.
Of course San Francisco and NY are attended by people from all over the world, as are some of the other big ones. In Harrisburg we tend to get about 5000-7000 people. (And about 20 protestors.) We do get some people from out of town, but not too many. Most are from Central PA.
Most places have them in June or July but some have them in other months as well. Generally the month of pride is considered to be June because that is when the Stonewall riots happened. But people have events in other months due to convenience and ability to obtain the venue, as well as weather issues. The smaller ones near each other also frequently need to share vendors in order to be financially viable, if we all had them on the same day, the vendors would have to choose which events to attend and we would probably just have a couple of local folks instead of people from around the country. The vendors do frequently do travel from event to event, at least in a certain geographical area. Also, we have to book entertainment, so a lot depends on their availability as well.
