Nikon Coolpix 5.1.* Used only two sets of two AA batteries the entire honeymoon (420 pictures). Regular batteries, not the special digital camera batteries. Very easy to use - I read the instruction manual in about 10 minutes and never had any problems figuring out the functions. It's also small enough to fit in your pocket.
My older Sony digital camera went through two AA batteries in about 50 pictures and was relatively confusing to operate.
*ETA: it doesn't take good museum/basilica pictures w/out a tripod.
