Seriously, people. High end vacuum cleaners? I understand the longevity point, but I have a 25 year old Hoover upright (old school, with the bag that attaches with a spring to the arm)that I bought on a whim for $5 at a yard sale I passed while walking my dogs. That thing still works - although I never use it.
TM has hardwoods and carpeting that he hates. I also believe that he has neither pets nor excess body hair, and am fairly sure that he doesn't walk straight into his apartment from the beach. An expensive vacuum would be a waste of money.
Also, bagless vacuums are not better or easier to use. Emptying the dirt cup is messy and you have to do it often. To avoid getting a faceful of dust, you have to wrap a plastic trash bag tightly around the cup as you dump it out, and then slowly remove the cup from the loose bag of dust. Can any of you see TM doing this? And obviously this process cancels out any benefits that may come from the fact that the vacuum has a HEPA filter or whatever other bullshit feature. HEPA without a bag --that does not make sense.

Look, puppy. I am the queeen of frickin' high end and what did I recommend? Hoover Wind Tunnel or whatever it is--yeah it has a HEPA filter but it is efficient and sells at Wal Mart for very cheap.
I think I am agreeing with you. oh god. somebody hold me.
