Also low rate of fraud. If you steal a credit card, do you go to the movies or do you buy electronics and cash-like items?*
*A friend had her wallet swipped a couple years ago. First charge was within 10 minutes for $300 of metro fare cards.

Maybe in the big cities. Usually, the first charge on a stolen credit card is for gas.
You can't buy big ticket items without ID, so no go on the electronics items unless you've stolen the wallet of someone who looks like you.
True story (hi Penske!) a guy with a stolen wallet tried to buy a TV with Mrs. Smith's credit card. When they asked for ID, all he had was Mrs. Smith's drivers license. He said it was his wife. They asked for his ID, he didn't have any. I think he got arrested.
