They were made with ice milk instead of ice cream. And they were meant to be a lot thicker than the milkshakes (much more ice milk used than we used ice cream in the shakes). Fribble mix (ice milk) was notoriously hard to scoop when you first brought it out of the walk in because it was stored at the same temp as the ice cream. My high school boyfriends were all dully impressed with my left wrist strength as a result of scooping the Fribble mix. Oh, wait, I probably wasn't supposed to say that.

Coffee Fribbles with chocolate jimmies (I called them sprinkles) were the way to go.
