I don't mind this phrase. I tolerate thousands of sports/cards/other cliches every day. Probably at least a thousand each minute that I am at work. If I am on a conference call with more than three other lawyers, then the count jumps to several hundred per second. I am just tired of people saying "It is what it is" when they have nothing else to say. If you have nothing to say, then don't say anything.
