National entertainment media and others have repeated the story about the seizure of money, and FBI officials are now concerned the publicity could damage their investigation and is unfair to Copperfield, who has not been charged with a crime.
"No currency was seized during our investigating activity in Las Vegas," said Seattle FBI Special Agent Robbie Burroughs. "Media reports to the contrary are false."
Copperfield owns a $50 million, four-island resort in the southern Bahamas known as Musha Cay at Copperfield Bay. The resort — touted among the most luxurious in the world — accommodates eight guests and costs more than $24,000 a night to rent.

I own no island escapes, but at a charity auction, i bid on, and won, having a chef from a local non-chain restaurant come to my home and prepare a dinner for 8. we just got his proposed menu.
