A few weeks ago, a talk radio station here went all sports. I would listen to the old station on my way home, so it is a habit to leave it on.

there is a show with two writers talking about local sports. one of them is also on the TV news sometimes, so i recognize him. Yesterday the two guys had a fight. some college football players were caught doing something. One guy felt they should play until convicted, the other guy felt they should get kicked off the team. People called in and yelled at the "kick off" guy.

most days they talk about the Lions, the Lions should do this or that. these guys do this for four hours a day.

Last night we go to dinner and end up at the bar to wait for our table. the "kick off" guy is next to us, with his wife. He notices that I noticed him, and a look of "oh crap" flashes across his eyes, like he probably gets guys giving him shit all the time, and yesterday he's get shit for wanting kids kicked off a team.

but what I really wanted to say is that I do not get how anyone can listen to his show, or any sports talk show. the Lions have not been to a Championship game in 50 years. they won 3 games last year. How can anyone talk about them for hours every week, and worse what numbskulls could listen.

even with a good team, how can there be anything to talk about "I think the Pistons should play this one guy more and this other guy less, blah blah." how is that something to listen?

I wanted to ask him "how can you go in and do that every day?" It is flat out being paid to masturbate, but without any ending.

do any of you people listen to sports talk.
