To be honest, though, at some point in time, your SO may stop waking up at an ungodly hour to come with you to the Start line (since he/she's done that four previous times). Instead, he/she will get up at a reasonable hour, walk 4 blocks east, wave at you at mile 7, and then go back home. Eventually, he/she will make it down to the Finish about three hours after the race started just to tell you how much you smell.

Oh, please. The START LINE? For a Marathon? I don't think so. For some of the shorter races (that start and end in more or less the same place -- or close by), maybe he'd come to the start, but wake up at 4:30? Uh... no.
