I think cash often has a lot more to do with a Man's perceived hotness than a Woman's. Lot's of women look great in rags; hell, there's a real attractiveness in a cute woman in grubby overalls.
I think the reason is that cash plays a bigger role in the traditional male job description than in the traditional female job description.
Same thing with age, but on the other side - Men have an easier time being older, because we have been socialized to want woman to be young and childbearing while Men are the older providers.
For the record, all of this is Not Good (which was Not Me's given named before em changed it).
