I would assume that that urge to protect them is because you have deep personal knowledge of how men react to women who have no clothes on.

I don't give a shit how permissive your dad or boyfriend or whoever was with you, they were oggling other women with no clothes on. That won't ever change. Asking someone you have a close personal relationship not to subject themselves to that doesn't seem like such a rant inducing problem to me.
