Kerry's lead slipping in new Bilmore poll

Okay, maybe I'm down to 61% on Kerry:
"Kerry took yesterday off instead of going on a Sunday TV show to jumpstart his campaign. He's done no interviews in more than a month, since the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth TV ads challenged his Vietnam and anti-war record.
Instead, to try to shift to offense, Kerry yesterday put out a statement suggesting a possible Bush cover-up of ties between the Saudi government and 9/11.
Bush spokesman Scott Stanzel called the claim "baseless" and suggested Kerry has hired Michael Moore as his "new foreign-policy adviser." "

I go the exact other way. When the media herd starts piling on, I get really, really nervous.

Call me when the Baptists start blowing up airplanes. Until then, your point is . . . lacking.

Well, the Kerry people are finally starting to hit hard in the spot they should have been pounding for months: that Iraq was the wrong war at the wrong time and has diverted our attention from AQ.*
That should be their primary attack. Secondary targets should be mocking Bush for being a male cheerleader and busting his chops about the coke abuse.
*of course, Kerry's initial stance contradicts this attack, but so what? People are stupid and can't remember what he said two months ago.

BMW owned Land Rover. Now Ford owns it. A family member worked on the deal and it was pretty big in the financial news at the time.

Good point. Up until this point, the biggest thing the extreme Christian fundamentalists have blown up is the Federal Building in Oklahoma City. And if you're going to say that the militia movement in the US isn't at its roots a fundamentalist Christian terror movement, I suggest you look a bit more carefully at their literature.

But Dick Cheney has an option on Jaguar. The Carlyle Group takes a lower profile. They have an unlisted 25% convertible preferred interest in Volvo.

This begs the question: wouldn't our troops in iraq be safer in Volvos than Hummers? Why not, Bilmore, why not?

I understand The Carlyle Group also has a quiet interest in AM General, so six one way, half dozen the other.

They were considered initially, but were found to be unable to tie in to the military communications net. The unique construction of Volvo frames blocks all non-NPR radio signals.
