is waterhead an ethnic slur?

This is the first thing I have seen on the GOP side that has crossed the line, but I think what he is saying implicitly is ridiculous.
Vote for Bush or we'll all die. Now that's a bumper sticker.

It's a Sebastianism., which by definition is a slur. However, it's unclear who exactly he's calling a waterhead, which makes it a Sebastianism. Clearly, he ain't talkin' 'bout no big-dicked swinging-knocking-over-whisky-bottles-cats.

You may think this is a joke, but many of my GOP friends were saying the same thing over the weekend, and they were half serious.

It just evens the score for Bush's post-Democratic Convention terror alert.

Disagree. Here's why:

I think Cheney's poorly-expressed point was that Kerry's apparent* philosophy towards terrorism will foster a world view that we will be weaker in our reactions to it, and that, in turn, will lead to a perception that we may be more likely to pull a Spain** than we would be with Bush in charge. If there is more of a hope that terrorism will lead to desired results, there is a greater incentive to hit us hard.

(* - I say "apparent" because I'm not quite sure what his philosophy is.)

(** - to "pull a Spain" replaces "fight like a mad Chirac" in the current lexicon.)

Here's my question: after the election, who is going to go after AQ with the most firepower? Is Bush going to ramp it up?

I want someone to go after all of them like the Earps and Doc Holliday go after the cowboys in "Tombstone".

I'm now envisioning a 20 minute music-backed montage of Bush and Cheney riding horseback and picking off radical Islamist militants.

Which, surpisingly, is not as funny as the original scene in Tombstone.

Russia Ready to Strike Against 'Terror' Worldwide

Russia Ready to Strike Against 'Terror' Worldwide
  • "As for launching pre-emptive strikes on terrorist bases, we will carry out all measures to liquidate terrorist bases in any region of the world," said General Yuri Baluevsky, chief of Russia's general staff.

So, I certainly know where they're coming from, but for some reason this makes me a teensy bit uncomfortable. Is this what the rest of the world felt like when the headlines three years ago were the same, but with "U.S." instead of "Russia"?

It was a dumb thing to say, i couldn't give a crap about fair. If there is a hit pre November or after the election it gives Kerry a chance to say, "no its them who exposes you." Before this Bush could say attacks for at least awhile are probably inevitable, but I'll make them less likely. Its a complicated message that you can't make simpler.

My sadistic Marine instructor this morning and I had similar thoughts about what to do to anyone involved with the school assualt in Russia. He was ready to mount up and personally kill every single person who may have had anything at all to do with it. I can't say that I felt differently.

Log Cabin Republicans withhold nomination for Bush.

Well, just think, had we not diverted all of our forces to Iraq, Doc probably would have shot OBL by now.

I'm enjoying picturing a dying Val Kilmer saying "I'm your huckleberry" to OBL...

Let's look for aim, not just firepower. Bush and Cheney have been too busy aiming at Iraq to pay the attention they should be to aQ.
