Because looking around me, I'm thinking that I am, yes.
According the Census Bureau the median income for a family of two in 2004 for California was $53,503

This is obviously quite old, but in 1989 median household income for San Francisco was $40,494

Nationally, mean income by for the middle 60% ranged from $25,688 to 67,114 in 2001.

By which measure do you count as middle income?
