Re: Objectively intelligent.
Mind blown: Elon Musk was not a founder of Tesla, he was an early investor and post-Series A employee who pushed out the prior CEO and then got an agreement in litigation to call himself one of five co-founders.

Re: Objectively intelligent.
Antibody test came back negative. We have a matter where both P and D are outside Milan. We had several people there in February. Was pretty certain I had. We do have employees that were confirmed cases, so was thinking/hoping it had gotten around a bit more.

At no point does it, or most articles like it, flip the statistics and say, "Out of a study of 500 hospitalized, 480 resolved in clinically predictable manners."
It is totally true that one can draw the really bad card in the deck with this disease. But the odds are very, very much in favor of drawing one of the other 51.
If Covid were an investment, the tail risk of it savaging in excess of, say, 5-7% of young people with strokes and blood clots, would be minimal. And yet we're served daily a litany of stories discussing it as though the likelihood of 95% of young healthy people recovering from it without unique or severe complication is in the area of 5-7%.
(I've a friend with a clotting disorder who sailed right through this, BTW. If anyone should have been a victim of this severe presentation of Covid, were it indeed as common as suggested in these types of articles, it would be this person. She's quite fine, a month out from it, and never had significant symptoms.)

Very true but all we are seeing now is bait after bait article.

The results vary depending on which test one takes

Symptoms may be mild for most

So it's day 47 since my first symptoms. I was all better for days 18-41, but all came back on day 42. Hopefully it'll be another few days and go away again. At least for a bit!
Viruses are nasty, and can take a lot out of you.
Symptoms...
lungs hurting, not enough oxygen, gasping etc... extreme cripling exhaustion... tingling legs and arms... acid reflux... brain fog... fever... big headaches... very dry throat.

BBC and the Economist have some pretty good coverage. But yes, it's dull. And I find most of the science stories in medical and scientific outlets are pretty even keel.
You can't look at any outlets that also do politics and economics. Vice, Vox, Slate, Buzzfeed... they're heavily invested in creating as much drama as possible, and if they can find an angle to hijack the story to a political discussion, they take it.
Here's a bong hit of horrifying possibilities. Now cannonball it with this giant gulp of "It's all that dumbass President's fault!"
I kind of like the NY Times. They're pretty lazy about their shading. It's like they're trying to say to shrewd readers, "Look, the next two sentences are where we show our bias, which we have to do for a certain audience. Skip that and read the rest." It's good coverage for the remainder in many instances.
WaPo is the worst. It's Bezos talking his book 24/7 through the worst sophistry. "You must stay in because [insert manipulated stats]! Buy moar shit online!"

I'd get tested once or twice more to be sure. The best of the tests are at most 70% accurate in either direction.

I'm getting ready to go visit my parents for a week. My dad will be turning 81 when I'm there, and my mom is 75. He has some underlying pulmonary and cardiac conditions and he unfortunately knows everything there is to know about how those two systems function and what this virus would do to them. I have another ten days before I go see them, so I'm tamping down even more than I had been the contact I've had.
