Which raises the broader question: Why, with nearly everyone who wants/can afford cable subscribing to it, with essentially every news story, however loosely defined, getting coverage on at least two news networks, do any local or national stations feel compelled to switch to news stories during entertainment shows. Surely MSNBC was covering teh speech--why not run a scroll referring viewers? How hard can it be?

And, note to DC stations: when there's a threat of 3 inches of snow, it is not news. It is weather. It should be covered during the regular news and news breaks. You do not need Live Team Coverage with reports from VDOT salt headquarters and Md. State Police HQ in Gaithersburg, plus coverage in my community of nervous parents stripping safeway's shelves of milk, bread, and toilet paper. All during Must See TV. Thank you for your consideration.
