3 accused of putting hairpieces on cows
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three livestock exhibitors at last year's Ohio State Fair have been disqualified for allegedly outfitting their Holstein cows with hairpieces.

State Fair inspectors said the three glued or painted hair from another part of the animal or from another animal to create straighter backs on the cows and enhance their appearance in the show ring.
There seems to be some sort of epidemic. When I was driving home yesterday, I heard a think on NPR about a scandal in the British dog show world, and two people resigning in disgrace. One of them was accused of running puppy mills in the 60s, and there was also suspicion that Danny the Pekinese, who won best in show last year, had some plastic surgery. The owners claim that the surgery was to correct some sinus trouble, but do we all buy that in this day and age?

CNN has also picked up the story.
