Anyone interested in a "Throw mama from the train" deal?

Word of warning: the person on whose behalf I'm having the guy roughed up is unaccountably, and despite her best interests, in love with the guy, and she may try to stop you from hurting him. Don't hurt her. Do what you will to him.

I'd do it myself, except she'd clue in immediately that his ending up in the ER and my being in her state isn't entirely coincidental.

I'll be happy to rough up someone in Houston in exchange.
Depends. If he's a little guy I'll kick his ass. And I don't want anyone beat up in Texas, but I do need some candid naked pix of SS. can you do that?

So you'll leave him pitifully in need of her love and affection in his hospital room?

You should think this through. If your goal is that he and she be together no more forever, I'd recommend a different approach. You need to make him look like an asshole and a fool in public, preferably in front of people she loves and respects. You need to take away his dignity and turn him into a laughingstock. You need to get him to show his true self to the world in a way he will never be able to deny.

Good idea. Perhaps you could get him to post here and then out him.

The CHOKE of the MILLENIUM

The Cards were shut down - whether they showed up or not, coming off the Yankees, the Sox were unstoppable.

But, whatever the Cards did or didn't do, they don't inherit the mantle the Sox have thrown off; that mantle has passed to the Yankees. That was one incredible CHOKE you guys did. It was a CHOKE that surpasses every Red Sox choke in history. It was incredible.

And our MVP learned to play virtually in the shadow of Yankee Stadium.

You heard it here first. The mantle, and the curse, have passed to the hubris-filled Yankees.

I can't wait until next year!
Ha. Typical Red Sox fan.

You're right. The Yankees choked. No argument here. And I agree, the Sox were on a roll when the Cards ran into them.

But get a fucking grip. The Cards were pathetic. Stupid fucking mistakes. Trying to hit home runs every at bat. Rolen was hitless. They were absolute crap. Boston played well (aside from all those errors), but the Cards played like shit.

Enjoy your year. And keep telling yourself that you can erase the decades of fucking futility and embarassment the Sox have put you through with the 2004 performance. Next year, things will be back to normal and you'll be bitching about how much we've spent again.

And, for the record, we have 26 World Series Titles and are the most successful franchise in all of sports. How many championships do you have now? Jeter will have more championships when he retires than your whole fucking franchise.

And how much of their lack of offensive production is based upon them not showing up versus good pitching from the Sox? Larry (Blame Canada!) Walker hit well. And they -- especially Pujols -- made some plays in the field.
That's such a half-assed response that there's really no need for me to argue with it. Again, I'm not saying Boston didn't play well. They did. But if you think the Cards showed up, you're smoking something. Or maybe it just shows how weak the NL was this year.

Greedy, take note. This is why I said you are going to make me hate the Sox almost as much as I hate the Yankees.

Why do they have to be candid? Are you afraid of a "George on the bear rug" photo?

In other news, I saw the special two-hour "The Office" show this weekend, and thought it was brilliant (had to say that -- it's a BBC show, after all).

I doubt this is really spoiling anything, but I'll use the invisible ink anyway:

The way it made me want to root for David Brent -- and actually be happy for him at the end was just fantastic. The scenes with him were absolutely excruciating. He's such a weasel, but I really wanted him to triumph, in his own small way, by the end. It was probably the best "reunion" type show I've ever seen. I do recognize that's a low bar, but it really was great.

Hey, I congratulated the Sox fans when they beat us and when they won the Series. When's the last time the Sox fans did the same?

Besides, although it's frustrating, you only hate what I said because it's all true.

Being a Notre Dame fan, I can say that you're starting to sound like a Notre Dame fan. "Yeah, you may have won the most recent championship, but we have the most!*"

For the record, not a good argument. You sound like you're stuck in the past. It's the most recent one that counts.

*11 National Titles

Uh, please re-read what I posted. I said that they showed up in Game 1. You know, the one where they scored a lot? I agreed that they didn't show up in Games 2, 3, and 4 -- I merely pondered how much of that was attributable to Boston pitching.

But I forgive you. Because I love you.

I won't change anything, but Jesus does my writing suck. Why don't I recognize the suckiness before I post? Why, bilmore, why?

Girl meets Boy, and they start hanging out. Boy is dating other girl, but break-up is imminent due to graduate school in another state. Other Girl leaves, Boy and Girl start sleeping together and "hanging out." At some point here, Girl decides she's in love with Boy. Boy says stupid stuff about how he really, really likes Girl but he's "confused" and needs time to sort everything out, but he really, really likes Girl. Girl patiently gives him time and sex. Fast forward four months of time and sex. Boy starts talking about a new girl who may be able to help him out professionally. When gently pressed on the issue, Boy announces that he's probably moving in with new girl after knowing her for two weeks. Girl is heartbroken.

Greedy: I'm just interested in pain.

Hank: I have no idea if he's a little guy, but I'll find out. I'll see what I can do about some lizard shots. ETA: she's sleeping with him, so he cant' be that little...
