I made these a couple of years ago and got rave reviews.
Happy baking!

What a great first touch at Hull for Jozy Altidore.

Julie & Julia
I have absolutely no interest in seeing this movie. I loved the Julie/Julia Project (the blog that led to the book that led to the movie), and I liked -- though didn't love -- the book, but by the time they got to the movie I'm afraid they'd completely watered down the nasty, sarcastic, profanity-laden, and utterly hilarious tone that Julie had and that made the blog so wonderful.
That said, I was fascinated to read this morning that sales of Mastering are now through the roof -- more in the past week than in any year since the book was published?
And so, many more people will come to learn the joys of system-shocking quantities of butter and severely overcooked veggies. (I mean, I love the books but seriously -- has anyone ever grown a carrot that needed to simmer for 90 minutes?)

I think we're witnessing the Algernon phase of his one-liner posting style. Just roll with it.

I think we're witnessing the stalker phase of Hank's obsession with me. Maybe RT can set something up so that every time I post, there'll be an automatic response from Hank that says "heh-heh, you're stupid, heh-heh."

All I know is that it inspired a dear friend to express a desire to take me home and bake me an ile flotant whilst wearing nothing but a string of pearls. I haven't seen it, but I love the fucking movie to death.

It amuses me that the covers of new copies of Mastering and Julia's autobiography have pictures of Meryl Streep playing Julia Child rather than of Julia herself. I guess that's modern marketing.
