I hate you say it, but you guys deserve it. The Sox were playing over their heads the entire year.

They'll make the playoffs, but won't do anything there.

It felt like smoke and mirrors for me most of the year, and I think that's what it was. It definitely didn't feel like the year that Chicago was going to finally end it's 185-year drought.

For $1500, this thing better climb out of the drawer on its own, wake me up by whispering in my ear, take its time removing my clothing, suck my nipples, lick my clit, slam me up against the wall, clean me up with a warm, wet washcloth and light my cigarette for me afterwards.
I'll do it for $1,499.

What happens to the real estate agent across the street from me and the residential r/e lawyer when everybody starts selling their home directly?
Never happen. Big names will always make big money. A big name gives a movie instant credibility to the sheep out there who will go see any Julia Roberts movie because if she's in it, it must be pretty good. Same with all the advertising. I was just making a distinction about high-end clothes designers. If your shit is already high-end, why spend all that money on Kate Moss. Sign some no name to a long, cheap contract and she'll be a big name in no time based on her link to your brand.

But your post reminds me of the thoughts I often have of what I'd do if I were somebody (in this case, a big name director or producer). I would find young, unknown acting talent and sign them to a contract in which I would give them a significant role or two in my movies. In exchange, I would make them sign over 10% of their earnings on their next five (or whatever) projects, since they would be benefiting from the exposure I'm granting them. How could this not work? A hungry actor would sign anything to be in a big movie and get their careers rolling.

Actors are suckers.*

*I don't know what that makes me, but I can't wait for you guys to tell me!

I wouldn't say anything is a foregone conclusion yet, which is why they play the games, but damn, this season has been really fun. In some ways, more fun that '95, because all of the contenders in the American League are so damn competitive. I've never actually witnessed my team in an an honest-to-goodness pennant race, but it's a lot of fun to see them peaking at the right time.

And if it's any consolation to you (unless it's trick/selective photography), the chicks they kept showing in the stands at the games were pretty hot.

It might work, but I don't know if actors really start making money until they've been doing it for 5 or 6 big roles. Exceptions for guys like Jim Carey, but he wouldn't have signed your contract. Plus if you're in that position you can angle so much along more traditional scams that you might not bother leaning on the actor.

For the most part the studios reap it all. I heard the guy who played Frodo in Lord of the Rings interviewed. He was paid 1 million total for all 3 movies and no points. He was somewhat known, but if he had held out they'd have picked some other tiny guy.

So now, the 3 LOTR grossed over 3 billion. Disney initially had the option to make it, but Eisner didn't want to risk the money. Someone else wanted to do it and got the option from Disney. Disney kept 10% of the gross as part of the transfer price. Someone at Disney involved in the project left and took half Disney's money as part of his severance.

So Frodo made 1 million for a few years work.

Disney and this exec each made 150 Million for signing their names a few times. You have that going on, you would let the actors alone- then everyone in the industry will love you.

Rocket launch

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9450683/

Mr Man saw this last night while we were on the phone and it freaked his shit out. Shouldn't there be some "oh by the way, we're gonna launch a rocket tonight in your area" disclosure that happens before this sort of thing? So people don't think that we are under attack from North Korea or something?

Now you might think your perfect round ass chick who you have posted to here is "hot' and even hotter than Moss, but she does not have a look that makes you want to buy whatever she is endorsing (unless its gwinky's ass-seat) She is cheap, tawdry and common looking and anything she advertised would be diminshed to that level. Kate Moss is a striking beuaty with far set eyes, incredible bone structure and gorgous skin. She is also incretibly thin without looking all Lara Flynn about it. Amd that rare combo built her a name that in turn increases her value.

Remember, high fashion models are not pitching to the hornies like Thurgreed and Coltrane, but to the aging dowagers with money and the need to show their chicness on the Upper East Side and the Hamptons (also to gals who aspire to this position when they become as aged, aka Vogue readers). These gals aint buying the fluffy panties of Assletta the Model Preferred by TM.
Jesus, woman. I can only post "You are stupid" so many times.

Your broken brain cannot separate one thing from another, so you pull bits and pieces of shit from all over the place in some lunatic attempt at making an argument. It's kind of sad.

You are talking about two different things. My tastes have nothing to do with the post you're quoting. The question was a simple one. Why is Kate Moss any hotter (or to translate for your flawed mind, why would clothes look any better on her) than the hundreds of other fashion models who are not supermodels.

Fashion models are not built like the woman whose photo I posted (months ago, you fucking freak). In fact, she is not a fashion model. Therefore, pulling her into your argument makes no sense.

You may think that Kate Moss's bone structure, far-set eyes, etc. make her what she is and you have a point. Maybe she is unique enough (on top of being hot) that designers think she will make her clothes stand out. If that's your argument, just say so, looney tunes.

But even if it is, I disagree. I don't see anything about her that 100 other fashion models don't have. In fact, I think there are many fashion models, who are not supermodels, that have much hotter faces, and bodies that are better for clothes. Because of this, I wanted to know why any designer would pay Kate Moss 50 times what they would pay another fashion model.

Now tell us again about how this woman is the epitome of beauty, so we can put your thoughts on beauty back in perspective:

Now I know where ABBA's neighbor got her advice

Quote:
DEAR ABBY: I'm not sure how to handle this. My across-the-street neighbor, "Joe," watches adult-rated movies at least twice a week. He turns the volume up so loud I can hear the moans and suggestive dialogue well into the wee hours of the morning. (Last night it went on until about 2:30 a.m.) The family who lives next door to Joe has two daughters, 12 and 14 years old. I'm not sure if they can hear those movies as I do, but our houses are all on very small lots. It's disturbing to think that they do.

The last thing I want to do is knock on Joe's door mid-movie, but this is getting ridiculous. I'm not sure what the other neighbors think -- it's too embarrassing to mention. Please tell me what to do. -- EMBARRASSED IN CONNECTICUT

DEAR EMBARRASSED: Write your neighbor a polite letter: "Perhaps you are not aware that the sound of your late-night entertainment travels across the street. Because minor children live so close by, won't you please close your windows and/or turn the volume down? Thank you, Your neighbor."

If that doesn't do the trick, notify the police and let them handle the matter, because your neighbor is "disturbing the peace" -- yours.
