Yep.
On the whole, lots of interesting back story and well-developed history/myths/legends/cultures.
But THAT is DENSE. Hard to read as a kid.

Fresh off my surprise that there are so many Silmarillion readers here, let me try to identify the uber-geeks. Does anyone know a lot about Linden Labs and Second Life? If you do, please PM me.

Are you telling me you're not a team player? It's not about individual stats. It's about protecting your teammates -- the guys with the stats.*

*I'm not really making this argument, because I can't do it with a straight face. I don't really like or understand the draw to hockey, so when I pick a guy to be my favorite of all time, it will be for something not essential to the game.

I am actually re-reading it now (I am a dork). As I recalled, it isn't all that entertaining, and its only real interest is as back story for the trilogy.

Hey, Adder, thanks for the IPod tip yesterday, I was able to get it up and running. You were right, it didn't take as long as downloading but it was time consuming to transfer. Video is a whole different ballgame.
But I am enamoured with it now. The screen is smaller, yet such clarity and it is like watching HD tv on this yittle screen. I'm a huge fan now. been procrastinating getting this up and running, but it is just like the Mini....but takes longer. The sound quality is much better even on my older songs. I have that new Beyonce song and it sounds like, wow. even without the EQ.

I've read about Second Life a lot lately in a blog, but I don't know much more than what the blogger has pointed out.

I know a lot about them, but I will only discuss them with you in Dwarvish.

Based on five minutes of research, I have decided that the full name of "Second Life" is "Second Life: For Those Who Never Have Sex In First Life."

That video rocks. I especially like all the fights were two or three refs stand there watching, and doing nothing (though one helpfully moved the fighters -- er, players -- sticks aside)

I like him because he's a black guy in a white sport who gets paid to fight all comers -- and wins. And I like him because he's so casual about the whole thing. But mostly I like him because he punches people in the head really hard and fast until they fall down, unconscious in a pool of their own blood.

Unrelated to nothing, here a link to the best goalie-on-goalie beatdown of all time. Watch to the end, when Cloutier challenges the whole I-hole bench.

"Laughing at them" funny things don't count. Also, you need to not negative count for stuff that bothered you.

When did I assert that I was funny?
As to Paigow, she certainly often thought she was funny. And often tried to be funny. But most of it, I didn't think was funny. Personal taste I guess.

I became a "resident" of the Second Life metaverse as of the first of this year. What do you want to know?

I love it when the goalies fight. A rare, special treat.

My dog eats cat shit and it seems to appeal to his personal taste, but that doesn't mean that there is credibility to the notion that cat shit is good.
As for Paigow, she's only funny when you know who she is and why she does what she does. To have her career persona, one of the oldskooliest most entertaining personas in Greedydom, which is credited with so many epically entertaining posts, criticized by some random no-name who doesn't understand the history of her humour is really just too much. You should be banned.....either that or shut the fuck up and get back to work!!! Isn't your quarterly bonii tied to billables?
