Last night I had a dream that I was sitting in my back yard, on my patio, drinking a beverage and smoking a cigarette. It was light out, but I could not tell if it was afternoon or morning or even evening. Just that it wasn't night.
All of my back yard renovations for which I have had need for a contractor (damn them!) were complete. The fence was up, the screen porch taken down, the landscaping all moved around.
Standing around the fence at regular intervals, but on the outside, leaning over the railing as if to talk to a neighbor, were several residents of FB land. PLF and Penske and Sidd and Wonk and Bilmore and Coltrane and Fringey and ABBA and I think that might have been everyone. And they were all talking, mostly to each other, but ocaissionally to me, as I sat on my porch.
I cannot remember what the conversation was about.
This was my dream. I am clearly insane.

I meant to share something about a dream I had last night too -- not because of the dream itself, which was not memorable (well, that's not exactly right, because I suppose it is capable of being committed to memory, I just don't remember it other than in the vaguest of shadowy recollection).
What made an impression was the overwhelming feeling of relief I felt when I woke up that whatever I had been dreaming about wasn't real, and was, in fact, only a dream. So, it was an unease-provoking dream, but I don't know what it was about. It definitely wasn't the typical "it's the last week of the semester, and you've never gone to class, and the final papers are due in two days" stress dream, but the feeling of relief was similar in terms of magnitude and palpability.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Probably not. So, B'nB, please allow me to join you in the asylum.

Happens to me frequently. Sometimes I remember really vague details, like I had been crying profusely in the dream, or I was terrified about something.
You are not alone, my fellow happy-to-be-awake dreamer.

DTB, dear, doesn't your little book tell you not to end sentences in prepositions?

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

It probably had to do with me, and you felt guilty about all the mind-blowing adulterous sex that was had. It's fine to fantasize about me when we both know it would never happen; I don't have time for another friend of that type in Gotham. Feeling unease and guilt about it is fine, too. It just means that you love your husband and your kids very much, which is a good thing. But you are still allowed to fantasize about our mid-Spring chilly roof deck surrounded by gargoyles stabbing sessions. I will put my hands over your breasts so that they don't get too cold.

That's not a dream, that's a nightmare. Lay off the ben n' jerry's before bedtime.

Who was I talking with, specifically? And what'd I look like?
Re: Ann's sister -- wtf, your PARENTS know? not only about a potential first date, but the reason the guy's marriage broke up? Your sister has bigger issues than going out with a wacko.
Divorced guys with kids always, ALWAYS are bad in bed. This rule is an even bigger one than the Repub guys are bad in bed one. Something to do with the seed having taken root, and the farmer leaving the fertile field.

Trivia Last Night
So in the famous LA Trivia Pub Quiz last night, we could have used some of the uber dorks on this board. During the "identify the artist from playing 5 seconds of the intro to the song" round, the final cut was a very John Philip Sousa or George M. Cohan type marching song. The smug quizmaster guy said he'd give a bonus point for the name of the song.
It was Monty Python, with their mega hit "Sit on my face (and tell me that you love me)."
I hate the fucking quiz. I also hate that my stupid brother insisted that "In the Air Tonight" was Genesis and not Phil Collins, and that Argentina, and not Italy won the World Cup in 1982. (I vividly remembered the cars driving down Yonge St. with the Italian flags, and was pretty sure I was about 9 years old, but couldn't swear that I wasn't 13 when that happened. Fuck).
We also lost a point on True or False - Golf has at one point been part of the Olympics. Answer: True - in 1900 and 1904. Bitch please.

As I may have mentioned before
My contractor boyfriend collects lunchboxes. I've been trying to get him a Kiss lunchbox for a while....the ones on eBay always go for more than I'd like to spend. What is the fuckin' attraction to Kiss?
