Calling Penske Out

I manage to drop that political bent when I talk to or deal with innumerable other repubs and conservatives -- or, I do attack them personally, but somehow I manage to recognize that they, unlike you, do not despise all democrats.
.
Why is your use of "some of my best friends are conservative" a convincing argument for your evenhandedness but empty rhetoric when I used to rebut you in the same manner?

For some reason you are vested in the notion of me hating individual rank and file registered democrats. Perhaps you need to ask yourself why? It would be similar to me not being able to separate you and your views from Bobby Byrd's racism, but I can view things in full context. What's your interest in not doing the same? Other than politics of personal destruction?

It it worked in Texas we could expand the program to other states. Kind of like Charter Schools.
The problem with this is that hunting in the passing lane causes at least a much trouble as it prevents. At least while alive, the drivers are going 55 in the passing lane. Take 'em out with a deer rifle, and they're going 0, often in the same lane.

Not terrible in Texas, which has wide shoulders on most roads, but if this were exported to the East Coast, there'd be chaos, both from the greater number of instances, and the increased problems with each successful take.

I have no doubt that Miers is a right-wing Christ-o-crat, and that this -- combined with the lack of public record -- is why Bush picked her as First Among the Toadies.

Once on the bench, perhaps her lack of experience will result in her deferring to others, or seeking popularity by following O'Connor's evolution.
I have to disagree with Will on the fact that you can't assume she has been a victim of discrimination. If she is 61, she had to overcome serious obstacles to get where she is today. Especially in Texas where the old boys network is a strong as ever. I believe those obstacles have been seriously diminshed but there were rock solid when she began her legal career.

I thought you tried that in California and found that it still didn't clear up the gridlock?

How about this? You set up some sort of lazer (that works automatically like those cameras that give tickets) that "paints" them with a signature mark that only can be picked up through infrared. When you get your hunting license you are given infrared goggles and then these people are fair game outside of their vehicle.

I wonder if RT or SS or them knew this guy? Oklahoma is right up next to Texas.
You are aware that the God of Islam is the same God as the God of the Bible, aren't you?

Funny you mention that because I was living in LA when that was going on. Most people were glad the shootings were occuring because they thought it would make the "jerks" drive less poorly. I am not kidding. Most people were not scared but happy. Only in LA.

Well, for one, the problem isn't as bad in Texas as it is in other states (except, in evacuation situations outside of Elgin, Texas, where that 40 mile an hour asshole is still probably trying to figure out where the hell that chick in the red Ford Explorer came from). The armed populace actually makes people much more courteous on the roads than they are in other states.

Go Arnold Go......

New Poll Shows Governor’s Reform Measures Leading
October 4, 2005

SACRAMENTO – A new media poll released this evening by KABC-TV in Los Angeles and KPIX-TV in San Francisco shows Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s reform measures leading handily.

The poll of 989 registered voters (529 likely) is the first public poll to be taken after the Governor’s campaign launched it’s TV advertising blitz and was conducted by Survey USA (for more information on Survey USA, please see Schwarzenegger strategist Mike Murphy’s blog at www.joinarnold.com). The survey was in the field from 9/30 – 10/02 and has a margin of error of 4.3%.

The results among likely voters are as follows:

Prop. 74
55% Yes
44% No
2% Undecided

Prop. 75
60% Yes
37% No
3% Undecided

Prop. 76
58% Yes
36% No
6% Undecided

Prop. 77
59% Yes
36% No
5% Undecided

The Governor’s reform agenda includes:

Proposition 74 which will require new teachers to work successfully for several years before they get tenure and a virtual job for life.
Proposition 75 which will give workers like police officers, firefighters and teachers the ability to choose whether or not money from their paychecks should be used for political purposes.
Proposition 76 which will control spending to end state deficits and balance the budget without raising taxes. At the same time, it will stabilize education funding to make sure our public schools are getting the money they need.
Proposition 77 which will allow independent judges to draw election districts instead of the politicians. It then allows voters to approve or reject those districts. It is about giving more power to the people and making politicians more accountable.
