The Lions have never been contenders in my whole life. Shouldn't that count for more than the short term "worst record" for a single season?
Plus, while we do fuck up Quarterbacks, the Lions really do have sucessful careers for Heisman running backs.

I received "Dianetics" as a secret Santa gift on Friday night. Dianetics and a Hello Kitty camera. I'm keeping the camera but not sure to whom to regift Dianetics. I had Battleship, but because it was a Yankee swap, someone took it. Damn Yankees.

Keep the book in your bag. Say you're on the train and some punk/creep looks like he's going to start harassing you- you casually pull that out and start reading- all but the craziest person is going to leave you alone.

Anyone in or near Wisconsin?
Animal shelter to shut down on December 31. They're looking to place the animals they have before then.

Can Reggie Bush block and play outside linebacker?

I am a firm believer that there should be two tiers of football, similar to English Soccer, college f-bal, etc.

I wonder if those two had the balls to do the raps, or if they hired hired guns.

Samberg's a new guy, but Parnell's rapped periodically over the years he's been on.

Last Minute Gift Idea
The dvd of the Pixies' 2004 tour is available at Cactus for $15. If she doesn't have it already.

Was it just me, or were several skits very very funny? I was laughing my head off. I wasn't sure if it was the weed or whether a lot of them were very New York-centric, and so most people wouldn't find them funny.

Cabo
So, I went to Cabo for one of those time share deals. You know, where you get a week at a (really nice) hotel and only have to sit through a 2 hour pitch and tour of the adjoining time share grounds? I'd do it every time to stay here for $38/night:
Hotel:
Time Share Property:
I spent most of my time at the Time Share Properties pool. Every one of the rooms has a sunset view and a view of the whales who spend December through February playing about 30 yards offshore.
1. It's very difficult to tell if the timeshares are a good deal or not ($10k to $30k for 30 years of week blocks), although I'm leaning on the side of it not being a good deal. But when you're there, looking at these ridiculous time share apartments and listening to the waves and watching the whales, it all sounds so good. If I lived on the west coast, I would definitely get one.
2. Even though you can't swim in the Pacific side, it's much better than the Sea of Cortez side, if only because you don't have to spend every minute of your life turning down peddlers. I thought I'd want to go in the water, but it was nice just sitting on a completely empty beach.
3. Has anyone been to Cabo Wabo or El Squid Roe, because, although they were both recommended, they fucking suck. Silly ass late-middle-aged, drunk, white men and women from California who (think they) are dancing to crap music. The funny shit is watching them trying to hit on my girlfriend, who is definitely not from Cali (and therefore soooo-not-laid-back-in-that-Cali-way) and getting their feelings hurt. Am I missing out on something? Has anyone who's been to these places enjoyed them? What the fuck am I missing?
4. I think if you had a time share, there would be many local places to discover with cheap, good food. But going down for a week is difficult because so much of it is over-priced tourist crap that you can't tell which it's going to be until halfway through the meal.
5. I saw Cinderella Man on the flight on the way back. And although I detest Russell Crowe like a sickness and hate Renee Zelwegger with the fury of a thousand evil, angry suns, I liked it. Neither one got in the way (too much). And the story was pretty good. I was pissed they didn't show him get beaten by Joe Louis, but I suppose that is only a cool ending to a few of us.*
TM
*Read: Me. On another note, I can't wait for when "Hoosiers for the Brothahs" ( Glory Road) comes out. How many times do you get to see a team of black basketball players fighting against the odds to beat a bunch of white players? I wonder if the coach calls for the old chain-link-fence play to pull out a win against an especially tough team?

This shelter is not that far from Minneapolis. I am uninterested in adopting any of the animals, however, because I found the representative animals pictured in the online story to be insufficiently attractive.
