He must really want to hear from me. Along with a lovely personal letter, personally signed by John, he told me how much he loved me, and to check one of the boxes -- 25, 50 100 or other. This had me confused.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I got one from the Republican National Committee. I was so moved -- I sent them $5.

Good news -- bodes well for the furure.
It did require a lot more compromise than the Administration was willing to contemplate a year, or six months, or three months ago. Now that the permission slip is in place . . .

Yes, I keep getting letters from the Republican National Committee letting me know that because I am such a great Republican, I have been asked to join the President's "Leadership America Task Force."* If I'd only be so kind as to send in my dues of $1500 for the year (comes with a free dinner, bring your spouse for another $1500).
I also a while back got my platinum membership card to the Republican party. I think I get a lap dance at Scores with it during the Convention this summer. It really bothered me that it came in an envelope that read in big script on the front something to the effect of "For all you've done for the Republican Party." Try explaining that one to your neighbor with the Dean sign in his front lawn (still).
No idea how I got on the list, but I suspect it has something to do with subscribing to Money magazine.
*I'm making this name up, but it's not far off.

Can I be your friend? All I was invited to do was celebrate Bush's birthday for $25, $38, or $50.
I think that when I start sending out birthday cards for kids, I'll propose this model.
"Please join us to celebrate slider's birthday. A gift of matchbox cars, legos, or nintendo will help us celebrate."

If this is some way of snidely bugging me, I'll say it again. I have every intention of paying you half of what the hotal room cost. I am not paying for half the scotch because I didn't use half the scotch. The box of condoms? I used one, and barely. How many do you have left?

I wonder how "spouse" is defined.

at the $1500 level its all "don't ask, don't tell." Roy Cohn had a lot to do with setting up the organization.

Sorry I got the regular size condoms. I didn't realize they'd have nothing to hold on to, and slip right off like that. Though, your shooting off as you were trying to put it on was less than ideal as well. It couldn't stick to anything after that. I guess that was my fault, though. Maybe you should rent porn more so that the mere sight of a bare shoulder won't set you off like that.
I should have said, "Republicans never ask me to give them anything."
It would have been a better setup.

It was an off-the-rack condom, not a cathedral. But nice try.
