He wears the torn t-shirts under custom-made shirts, Hank. Pay attention. The man seems to have some pride.

I have no control over this and will NOT be washing my father's dirty nasty gym clothes. (Thx for the tips -- I feel ready to hit the crowded store now)

It's not like he's gonna go to the gym anyway. If he wanted to go to the gym, he'd have a membership already. This gift is the adult equivalent of receiving brussel sprouts in your stocking as a kid.

Cite, please.
I suppose this is your answer, Seasonal Sock. If your father is a red-blooded American middle aged man with an AARP discount, cotton is king. If he's some mamby-pamby metrosexual, well, listen to RP.

I have plenty of wicking shirts that don't look much different that cotton shirts. Nothing really fancy/pretty about them.
Of course, I sometimes wear the short running shorts on long runs, so maybe I'm not the right person to ask.

And you look fabulous in each and every one, my darling. Me, I'll stick with my sweet pants and Dexy's Midnight Runners concert T.

I love you, but ....
Bullshit. That's exactly what he wants. At least in the beginning. Later, after the cult has brainwashed him, he will want the gore-tex jock strap. The journey of a thousand miles, etc.

I guess my point was that one needs at least enough outfits to get through one week. If you plan to work out every day, that means seven completely separate outfits. If three times a week, three completely separate outfits.

Still, if you clean him up too much, he'll have the 40 year divorcees hanging on him. As he gets in better and better shape they'll be looking at him more seriously, and he'll be tempted. Mom's not getting on aprogram.
If sock doesn't want Dad working the spinning class for strange, she'd be better getting him boring gym stuff.

I guess that rules out the "Moustache Rides - $5" vintage tee from Urban Outfitters.

Also, I just want to point out that I did link to the straight-legged knit pants, not the elastic bottomed sweat pants.
I do have some sense of fashion.
