movie recs
We have a babysitter tomorrow night and want to see a movie. What's out there that's any good? It's been so long that I'm just looking forward to see something in color.

Fucking Social Security, fucking parents
I tried to file my taxes electronically this year, but they were rejected because my dob does not match what Social Security has on file.
So I get to spend a day on line at the Social Security office, filling out forms, observing humanity at it's best and figuring out if I am older, younger than I am, or if my parents are idiots for filling the form out incorrectly all those many years ago.
Fuck.
So which office should I go to? The one downtown or the one in the low income neighborhood that is closer to my home. I want to be entertained with good people watching if I have to stand on line for hours.
(Where exactly is my birth certificate?)

Had dear old Penske not been unceremonioulsy dumped from this board through a megamaniacal abuse of power, I would think this is his sock.

Deep Throat is playing at the Roxie and Inside Deep Throat is playing at the Clay. If you and the Mrs. play your cards right you could score a double play.

Those were my picks for elimination. My notes on their performances were "eh" and "blah," respectively. I wasn't much into the guys last week but this week I thought they outdid the girls by far. I voted big time for Anwar and Bo. If Bo's voice were in Constanine's body, he'd be unbeatable because the teenage girls would vote for him on looks and people who like rockers would vote for him on voice.

I disagree -- They were 2 of the 3 I thought were most likely to go, but neither was the one I most thought would go. Aloha's performance was just "eh" for me and I hate hate hate the flower. You are right about Celena = boring doormat. I didn't even write down anything about her performance.
I thought Janay had the 2 consecutive worst performances over the last two weeks and she was my top pick to go. I get the feeling she has the ability to do something good but it isn't coming out in her performances so far. I voted for Nadia and Carrie even though it was more based on last week's performances than this week. I also like Vonzell but maybe I'm trying to make her into this year's LaToya.

I'm sorry, but whoever you are - I love you for making me laugh after this miserable miserable day.
In other news...Where's Flinty?
Chimps escape, attack staff at Calif. sanctuary
One employee airlifted to hospital in critical condition
CALIENTE, Calif. - Four chimpanzees broke from their cages at an animal sanctuary and attacked workers Thursday, seriously injuring two of them, authorities said.
Two of the escaped chimps remained on the loose from the ranch, about 20 miles southeast of Bakersfield, the sheriff’s department said in a statement. Officials said it was unclear how the animals escaped from their cages.
Unclear? I think we all know the culprit.

str8, do you have the presale password for the show at the Wiltern 4/11?
And finally, confidential to all IMers: Looks like my firm IT dept was busy last night. No more IM for me.

LA presale password is "bleed" but I'm not sure it'll work for you if you dont' have an LA zipcode. But give it a shot.

I got it this afternoon, but thanks for the follow-up. I should be fine if I just put in 90210 for the zip, right? Maybe I'll buy tix under my Jennie Garth pseudonym.

My local Walgreen's didn't have the sinuscleanse. I did pick up some Simply Saline, Neti in a can, to try it out. Chalk up another neti pot order at yogahealth.com.
Woo hoo! Thanks sunny.

why not just change the dob on your taxes to match what's on record? Unless it's off by years, which would potentially affect yoru benefits, why will it matter?

If the dob SS has is earlier than her real dob, she could be accused of fraud or whatever if she started getting benefits based on that age. If the dob SS has is later than her actual age, this works for me.

ETA and while we are on alternative medicine, the head of my bed currently is on the south end of the room, and the door at an angle in the northeast corner. I don't sleep well. Given that I would have to move the INCREDIBLY heavy bed and dresser, should I try moving the bed so it is on the opposite wall?

Was there something about alternative medicine in there?
