Isn't this the book that explores how some people can perceive certain things, like whether the server is going to double fault, without ever really being able to explain the reasoning behind their actions?
That's all fine and good in a lot of things, and I've been meaning to read that book, but I have hated being involved personally, romantically and professionally with people who always "know it when they see it," "just feel that way" and "can't justify their feelings." In my (admittedly biased) mind, that's how a four year old acts. Adults explain why they feel a certain way and can talk about it coherently.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

And yet they still make mistakes and/or decisions that did not work out the way rationally and logically they should have. I have dated or been pursued by people who are fantastically matched to me in how we approach life, etc. No spark. Do we agree on how to spend money, raise children, etc.? Yes. Were we in love? No. That is something you feel and at least I cannot ever adequately explain.

Chappelle is like watching a 50 home run a year hitter, or like buying a Zeppelin or Stones record. He's not going to give you the solid B laugh Seinfeld gave you all show long. But when he makes contact, you're going to cry... I mean, literlly break down in tears... laughing. I offer as evidence:
Clayton Bigsby (blacck KKK guy)
Racist animals
The Niggars
The Race Draft
World Championshipn of Dice ("Ashy Larry alone is hysterical)
The Real World Spoof
Great moments in the History of Hook Ups
Rick James
And these are just the few I recall. The man is just pure genius. I can understand why he's having trouble doing new shows. He managed to hit 100 home runs in his first two seasons. He crammed the number of killer laughs a normal sketch show would get over a decade into two years. Blew his wad early.

I was speaking more to her decision I think . People won't change because you tell them they have to. But he might change the stuff that bugging her simply because he'll likely change quite a bit over the next few months.
And sunny, I'm speaking about a hypothetical girl who's boy just came off a mountain. You can dump him w/o any reason, so having a reason is okay also.

So, I have a date tonight...and I didn't wear underwear under my skirt...do you think that's too slutty? Should I go buy some at lunch so I come across a little more respectable?

"I am no longer sexually attracted to you. I would say it is because you are long-winded and condescending and try too hard to take the right view on everything, but I knew that when I first met you, and I wanted to hump you like a wildebeest back then. It's not due to any change in your technique, either, your ability to make me come is totally unchanged. Therefore, mmm, I can only attribute this turn of events to an unexplainable change in either your body chemistry or mine, which change has caused me to be repulsed by your very approach and driven to nausea by your kiss. Here is your passport. I do hope we can still be friends."

You are not very smart if you think that in order to be an adult, you must always know why you are feeling a certain way and be able to perfectly express that feeling. It can't be done.

NO. If you get to the point that he knows whether you are wearing underpants or not, it is that conduct that would make you slutty or not -- not your actual attire.
Not that there is anything wrong with not wearing underpants and/or letting people know this.
BTW, I am commando today.

I can talk about my feelings for hours and hours and hours in boring and excruciating detail, but ultimately, I feel the way I feel and there's little that will change it.
Yes, it's important to talk through problem. Yes, it's important to give the other person a chance. But sometimes, you just can't stand the thought of being with them anymore, and no amount of talking is going to change that.
