gay celebrities is probably my favorite FB topic. I dont understand why Kevin Spacey would stay in the closet. Tom Cruise- yes- he is a schlockmaster whose market is no neck middle america, who may not liek the gays or would have crushed fantasies if they knew Tom was a gay. Kevin doesnt have the same target audience and tends to make artier, less mainstream films. which sometimes are schlock. |

That particular Cruise rumor was third hand through a bar owner in Greece. I find it fairly reliable, but then he may just be looking to lure us to Mykonos. Frankly, it wouldn't take much to lure me to Mykonos.
Kevin Spacey? I never heard the rumors before the Esquire article came out, but afterwards everyone was talking about how they just knew he was gay. At one point, Spacey said he sorta enjoyed the rumors because women kept on wanting to bring him back on the straight and narrow, so to speak. A friend of mine worked on The Life of David Gale, and she said there wasn't evidence either way on that set.
ETA: I suspect that the character he played in LA Confidential, Jack Vincennes, was gay, though that hasn't been conclusively proven either, and eventually the whole discussion will lead me to start ranting again about the 1997 Oscars, so it's probably a discussion best left alone.

I heard the rumor at the time American Beauty came out. I subsequently heard that this was a movie written, produced by and starring gay men on A jay Leno type show. THen I read soem story inthe totally reliable Natl Enquirer discussing some incident between Spacey and his manfriend. Then I recently saw him on Inside the Actors Studio which confrimed he couldnt be a straight. |

I have it on good authority that last week Oprah did a feature on men who cheat on their wives/gfs with other men, but do not consider themselves gay (or really cheaters, I think). I believe that one of the bases for not considering themselves gay was the fact that they did not blow men or take up up the ass, but only received blow jobs or put it up someone else's ass. Thus, if James Lipton blew Tom Cruise, these men would not consider Tom Cruise to be gay but would consider James Lipton to be gay.
I believe "on the down low" was a phrase used on the show.
