And for the billion-and-first time, Wilson should have been undermined, given the extent of his lies and his broad access to a gullible media.

Clearly you have not been paying attention. Armitage mentioned it first, but Libby and Rove (maybe others?) were out there actively spreading the news around. Did you not pay attention to any of the recent news? Shit, Scooter's own defense is that he is the fall guy for an administration attempt to slanders Wilson.
But what extent of his "lies?" That the media concluded that he was sent by Cheney (which he wasn't, and he never said)? Or is it your position that Iraq was trying to buy yellow cake in Niger?
Seriously, if you actually pay attention to news sources (meaning one that employ "journalists" that try to be objective) instead of just Fox News and the right wing blogs, you might, you know, have some idea what is going on in the world.

My fucking god. Seriously, where have you misplaced your brain? You honestly think that the liars in all of this are likely Armitage and Russert? Why? Name one reason Russert would have to lie about Libby?

Why did it take until Libby's trial for that fact to come out? Why didn't the white house immediately explain what happened?

That makes it OK to wreck his wife's career and do damage to other CIA assets?
|
Unproven, and by crying to the press, they've become celebrities and they've received book/film deals.
Hardly a "wrecked" career.

Better yet, why didn't Colin Powell or Armitage come forward when Bush, Cheney, et. al. were being improperly targeted?

That would be a better question if the White House, when it said it would figure out who the leaker was, wasn't also spreading the story further on the q.t..

You would not buy this for a second if she was a Republican and Sandy Berger had done this to her.

Perhaps because Bush, Cheney, et. al. weren't being improperly targeted?
