Can't we stop hurting each other?

TM, no one thinks they need that much caffeine in any absolute sense -- I think they just keep upping the dosage. I usually drink a 12 oz coffee in the a.m., and none in the p.m. If I'm particularly beat, I'll get a 16 oz in the a.m., or a 12 oz in the p.m. I make that the exception rather than the rule because I don't want to get hooked, but if you're not paying attention all of a sudden you're getting a vente every three hours and things have turned ugly.

The net effect of drinking a caffeinated beverage or alcoholic beverage cannot be less water in your system, or the human race would have died out long ago when people drank ale all the time, and a lot of people around now would be dried out husks because all they drink are caffeinated soft drinks. I think they are maybe less hydrating than water. Big whoop.
I like the passion iced tea and the green iced teas at starbucks. They are much cheaper than the lattes. I get them unsweetened.
I never really drank coffee -- other than very occasionally with dessert, at nice restaurants -- until I started drinking lattes. I will drink cafe au lait (which I used to think was spelled cafe ole!) as well. I don't even particularly like coffee with cream. I like it very very milky.
My choices are the one-off place down the street, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and Starbucks. The one-off place down the street is either OK or it tastes like absolute crap. I generally don't like CB&TL. So Starbucks it is.

You're not a newbie. You're just annoying.

TWAT TWAT TWAT TWAT.

It's also funnier in all caps.
Good thing I have moved beyond reading the board out loud. Now I just move my lips and mumble -- much less embarrassing when people walk past in the hall.

I do Q-tips to make them feel cleaner if they feel dirty or itchy. I do not shove them all the way back in there. I thought that the problems resulted from damage to the eardrum if you shove the thing in too far? If there is water in my ears, I twist up a tissue (very narrow but long twist) and put it in to suck the water out because I'm paranoid about ear infections.

I really have never heard either of these two words much (well, not gash in this context). When I was at the most conservative place I have ever, ever worked, a (female) client once said on a teleconference "What a pain in the twat!" and I thought the (male) partner was going to die of embarrassment. He apologized to me. Hah.
I don't really like either one that much. They seem pointless. Gash also seems to be bringing in the whole menstrual thing, since normally a gash on a person's body bleeds.

I think ear drum damage is the worst thing that can happen, but in general it's better to have a little bit of wax in there, because it actually protects the ear canal skin from irritants. You're just supposed to wash away the stuff that comes out into the ear itself.
Even to clear away water they don't recommend sticking anything solid in the ear, just relying on gravity (I just typed gravy--I am overdue for lunch!) or alcohol/vinegar drops as a last resort.

Twat vs. Gash, which is more offensive? Discuss amongst yourselves.

Twat. No doubt. Gash at least has a secondary meaning. One of the guys I used to work with called one of my female co-workers a crease. A filthy crease.
So every time I hear the word crease, I think of him. RIP Rick.

This brings up a question: do we bathe too much? I bathe twice a day (due to running in the evenings), but I always feel like I'm washing off essential oils that (a) protect my skin from the sun; (b) protect my skin from drying out; (c) protect my skin from insects, etc.
The oils are produced for a reason, right? Don't they serve as a natural sunscreen?
Of course, I'm a greasy eye-talian, so maybe I need to bathe twice a day.

"We" do not, but you do. unless you have some long hair issue that requires you to wash hair after sleep you should only wash once a day. if you run in the evening, showering thereafter should suffice.
And what you are is a self-hating I-tie. Perhaps that is why you choose to bath twice?
