You're cranky. Someone should buy you a sense of humor.

Because I think yours is broken.

If you were one of our founding fathers, we'd be spending tomorrow drinking tea, and typical NFL scores would be 1-0 and 0-0. And we would have terrible teeth.

Damn that less-than-perfect vision!
Mine was $4475 -- but changing my height from "Above Average" to "Tall" got me another $200.

I think that's a defensible change -- wonder what I could get from a much less defensible claim -- "athletic" body type?

And they didn't have a question re: crank size. I imagine my Rasputin-like member would significantly increase my value:

No offense, but I am pretty certain that if they learned you had a swollen, mis-shapen, pickled cock, you might actually be looking at a discount.

I think I'm in a similar boat as you are. Actually, with the exception of Sebby, I think that most of the rest of us are right there with you.

I would think that making a jump to something radically different will require some sort of financial sacrifice at first until you get up to speed and get good at it. And that's the part that scares the crap out of me and keeps me tied to something I don't hate, but certainly don't really love.

I think that's why a lot of people jump to legal recruiting or some sort of other sales-related legal support job when they first get out. It's somewhat familiar and there's a built in knowledge base that you can draw on to do well fairly quickly.

Moving to opening a book shop or becoming a landscape designer or starting a catering company involves a lot more risk and a much bigger learning curve.

First time poster on this board.................

Happy 3rd of July to all!

And no that's not a typo.

It is part of my ongoing campaign to have July 3rd declared a new national holiday of Dependence.

All those liberal leaches who believe government should provide healthcare, retirement, free cheese, prescription drugs, and all the other nanny-state teat-suckling free-rider handout social programs should celebrate DEPENDENCE on the 3rd while independent free-thinking self-sufficient patriots who are convinced that the federal government is into all kinds of stuff that they shouldn't be, can celebrate the traditional Independence Day on the 4th of July.

Who's with me?

love,

Yankee D. Greedy

Ah, yes. One of my favorite responses to the multiple variations of "Oh, the kids have it so much tougher today ..."

Than what? Small pox? The bubonic plague? Backroom abortions or getting sent to a convent for life? Being sold as chattel? Child labor? Trenchmouth?

Well, there are many books out there designed to help people make career changes by helping them figure out what they do best and what they are interested in. Sort of personality-test like. I don't know of any titles off the top of my head, but if you searched on Amazon, it would return something. Of course, you would have to take from the books what you could, because likely some information is irrelevant, since you are highly educated and coming from a professional field.

I do know some investment bankers that have made radical career shifts by starting their own businesses. One started up the Lotte Berk knockoff fitness studio down the street from me, and it is very successful, and she's probably now broken even and is making a pile (they charge a lot). Another one is a professional organizer, now making a pile (also charges the earth). It can be done -- I think you do need some savings and good credit, and a real idea of what your strengths are and what you like to do.

i have no doubt that with your bloodline you would have been the sort of landed gentry with time to be a founding father, yes. Me? I'm swarthy. If someone from my social background showed up on your porch back then I'm fairly sure you wouldn't serve them tea. More likely a term of forced servitude in the continental navy for the interlooper, or a month in the stocks would be your response.

someone posted a link that will count distance on a map of one's running routes. can you repost? Ped something?
