Ya know, it actually sort of ticks me off that there isn't much stylish, or even fashionable, clothing for vegans. (Actually, this is part of my general annoyance that there aren't more stylish clothes for everyone outside of "normal" parameters, or even within them, but philosophical veggies, the obese and the non-wealthy are ones that often get my dander up, and things are very slowly being improved for the last two.) While I will refrain from commenting that those who believe others shouldn't wear animal products should perhaps devote their efforts to creating non-animal product clothing that those others will actually want to wear instead of chastizing and alienating everyone with their rudeness (as some certainly have, though by all appearances the vegans are still a sufficiently small group that they don't seem to have much of a talent pool to draw from), I am eternally frustrated with people's lack of imagination.
Why should vegan clothing mimic non-vegan clothing? You can get materials a lot better looking than fake leather that will serve the same purposes (and probably serve them better), and once you stop to think "well, why should a vegan foul-weather boot look like a leather boot? Why not create something entirely different with waxed cotton, or jointed wood or metal soles, or something else that makes the most of materials we are willing to use?" the whole world opens up.

Dear, it is clear that you should not be jumping on the "yeah, Thrashers Fan, your life is boring" bandwagon.
I think you need to get drunk on oyster shooters.

Shit. I sort of now wish I knew where she was (other than just "Boston") so I could ask her that very question. No doubt, she'd have some convoluted justification for why she lives in a condo overlooking the Commons (I'm making that up). Or perhaps she doesn't give a rat's ass about the environment, just the animials. (That would be the only answer I would accept.)

Beyond the "organic" cachet, hemp has its problems as a clothing material. It wears rather quickly, doesn't hold color well, and you will frequently wake up in the middle of the night to find your pants eating all of your chips.

It was work, and I was just bitching about the apostrophes.
And I stand by my statement that my life is less boring or, at a minimum, less unpleasant.

You should have known me during my "I only by clothes made in the USA" phase. Not that I don't still try to buy American-made and I would definitely choose American-made over a similar but less expensive foreign product, but just try finding an entire wardrobe that is American-made and not crappy looking. This certainly adds to my boring life reputation -- and yes, there is an American flag displayed at my house so fuck all y'all.

I know quite a few people who've built straw and tire houses, and I'd consider using straw and adobe if I were to build a house, except for the fact that the humidity here would cause mold problems with the straw.
These days, there are some really good products out there that are environmentally sound for building. Bamboo is a wonderful wood to use in homes. It is very hard, it grows quickly, and it's readily renewable. Cork is also great because they don't kill the trees to harvest it. Very renewable.
There's a great place in Austin called Eco-Wise ( http://www.ecowise.com), that specializes in eco friendly building for interiors.

No. But the aversion to travel, any kind of food besides beer and egg whites, nakedness and sexual experimentation does. From the picture you draw of yourself, the only new things you seem to want to try are cats.

Fuck American shoes. If it's not Italian, I won't (or can't) wear it. Americans don't know how to make shoes for people without freakin huge feet. I happen to have a petite and slender foot and only Italian leather fits (and looks good). Except for tennis shoes. Go nike (even though that's most likely Chinese).

It is all relative. I already lived the club-hopping, hanging with the band, "one hep cat," life with all the bells, whistles and substances. I did more and saw more before law school than many people do in a lifetime. Now I like to work, spend time with my son and husband, drive my car real fast, drink beer and watch sports. That may seem boring to you, which is your right, but I am not sure why it would be called unpleasant.

This is clearly just another attempt by some hippie dope-fiend to start a slippery slope to legalization of the Evil Weed so that every one will start walking around with red dull eyes searching aimlessly for munchies and the populace will be stoned into complacency which is exactly what the goddamned Commies looking to take us over want under the bullshit obfuscation of "We Only Like Hemp Because it Makes a Really Good Fiber." So nice try, you America-hating hop-head.

Kinda like dogs and chocolate -- if my dog finds a piece of chocolate he is in heaven, apparently it can actually send him there. Funny thing about cats and humans, they are the only two animals that will hunt for fun when there is no necessity.

My cats have never had a problem with milk, and so despite the rumor of lactose intolerance, I continue to give them it (in small quantities, of course). They also eat fruit, crackers, green peas, chips, potato in any form, lint, and bits of (fake) Christmas tree that shed onto the floor. They will not touch chocolate, which is good, because it can kill them as well.
